Have I mentioned how much I love Maria Menounos lately? The lady is just flat out adorable. Everything about her makes me smile. I’m loving her on “Dancing with the Stars” and I’m especially loving her chemistry with pro dancing partner Derek Hough. Is Derek the pretty blond boy in some of these photos? Why yes. Yes he is. Does that mean there’s truth to the rumors that these two are bumping and grinding off the dance floor as well? I doubt it. I remember those rumors about Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy a few seasons back. There are rumors about one couple or another every season. I guess it’s just Derek’s turn. Sure they’re hanging out at Mixology 101 in Los Angeles together but there are a lot of people other there. My guess? They’re friends and nothing more although stranger couples have definitely happened.
A lot of the time, the chemistry b/w the dancer and the celebrity will lend itself to talk and speculation. There has to be a certain amount of chemistry, rapport and comfort to dance with someone for a certain amount of time, and it builds up too. Maybe Derek and Maria are attracted to each other. Maybe not. Either way, they’re both adults.
Agreed. I think the speculation adds a little intrigue to the show and honestly, I think that’s something this season needs. I’m having a hard time getting into it, even with Maria involved. I don’t think either Derek or Maria seem terribly bothered by the speculation.
If I’m not mistaken, the blonde lady Maria is with looks a lot like Catherine Jenkins, the Welsh opera singer. If it is her, she’s looking a lot slimmer than I’m used to seeing her, and she was pretty slim before. I hope she’s OK.
I was going to mention Katherine but I wasn’t entirely sure it was her. I’m actually still not but if it is her, she’s probably looking slimmer because of her time on “Dancing with the Stars”. Most women who appear on the show tend to tone up and lose a bit of weight. Ricki Lake and Kirstie Alley both come to mind. I think it’s all the work that goes into training. The girls that are already slimmer probably get more toned up as well but it’s not quite as obvious.
I don’t watch Dancing With The Stars so I had no idea Katherine was on it. It’s definitely her though because I just Googled it. Yes, that would explain why she’s lost the weight. She’ll probably put some of it back on after the show.
Why are you having a hard time getting into it this year, Wanda? Is it not as exciting this year?
Maria comes across as someone who doesn’t really care what people think anyway, so I’m not surprised if the speculation doesn’t bother her.
I’m not really sure what’s missing this year. It just doesn’t grab my attention the same way it has in past seasons. I think it’s the judges. They just seem to score so unevenly. Some get great scores for good performances while others get good scores for great performances. I started noticing it last season but this season it’s just irking me. I think I’m just crankier this season than in seasons past. Lol!
