Adorable Zooey Deschanel At A Publicity Event

January 13, 2012, Zooey Deschanel

I absolutely love Zooey Deschanel. I have been in love with her since I saw her in "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and that love hasn't waned in the slightest since then. Here's the deal though. I really don't like "New Girl". I might be about the only person in the world who doesn't and I'm fine with that. There were a few moments that made me laugh but overall, I feel like it's a huge waste of Zooey's talent. Remember Zooey's guest appearance on "Weeds"? It was fabulous. I was hoping for something more like that. I hear it got better as the first season progressed but I bowed out after the first three episodes. Maybe I'll check it out again someday. I suppose that's beside the point. These photos, taken at the 2012 Winter TCA Tour Fox Panel, show Zooey doing what she does best - being adorable. I still love Zooey. I'm just not sure "New Girl" was the best career move she's ever made. Then again, she was in "The Happening" and "Your Highness" - two rather bad movies that somehow failed despite incredible casts. Perhaps I'm just too picky.

I think she’s utterly adorable too. Perhaps she was cast in “New Girl” because she does have that down-to-earth girl-next-door vibe about her. Plus she can’t always be in great productions. Sometimes you’re in the right one, sometimes you’re not. That’s the life of an actress/actor.

I agree, Hilda. For instance, as much as I love Denzel Washington and think he’s one of the greatest actors of our time (my opinion), he’s been in a couple of boo-boos in his time. It’s how it works.

Zooey’s a lovely young lady. I really like the way she dresses too. She’ll hit another big-time series or movie again at some point, I’m sure.

They make her seem so stupid on the show.

I bowed out after 3 episodes too, but my DVR kept recording them and I decided to watch them and it has gotten a lot better. She’s just so adorable.

Randal, you know how some series can take a while to warm up? Maybe New Girl is one of those, especially if you’re saying it’s getting better. Could be unmissable and highly addictive by the last episode in the series.

Thanks for that, Randal. I’ll have to give it another shot. I really wanted to like it so maybe I just didn’t give it long enough.

I don’t have a TV (and I don’t miss it either!). It stopped working months ago. I guess I could watch New Girl online though, but since I stopped watching TV, I generally don’t have the desire to watch any TV programs online (even though I can).

Randal, I wasn’t going to watch New Girl as I’d heard crap reviews about it. However, now you’ve mentioned that it’s not that bad as the episodes roll, I think I might give it a go and watch it.

Its a great show, and yes, it also took me a few episodes to warm up to it.
