My biggest complaint about Miley Cyrus when she decided to foster a more mature, sexualized public image was the fact that it felt hollow and forced. It didn’t seem like Miley was trying to take control of her sexuality. It seemed like her ‘team’ was behind the suddenly more sexual image and that disturbed me. It was like someone was telling her to show off her body more to attract a more mature audience and that felt wrong. Since that time though, Miley has gone in a much different direction. She’s adopted an edgier sort of style and to me, it seems more true to who she is as a person. I like that. I know some people don’t like the hair and some people are likely going to feel like these photos are too edgy but I think they’re great. I think Miley looks incredibly sexy but more than that, she looks confident and secure. I’m actually kind of excited to see what she does in her professional life next.
