Are we really still talking about this girl? In my always very humble opinion, Courtney Stodden (or the Teen Bride as she’s likely more commonly known) is a whole new low in “famous for being famous” celebrities. As a culture, I think we’re often fascinated by things we don’t understand. I think we like to be angry and outraged and for a lot of people, 16 year old Courtney’s marriage (her husband is 51 year old actor, Doug Hutchison) has drawn so much attention for both of those reasons. We not only can’t understand why this beautiful young woman would marry a man so much older than her but also why her mother would give permission for such a thing to happen. It makes people angry. I try to keep an open mind about everything but this one is really tricky for me. Here in Malibu, Courtney actually looks happy. Maybe all the outrage is unwarranted. If she’s happy, healthy and feels good about the decisions she’d made, that’s her business. I don’t believe a girl her age is incapable of making smart decisions. When I was 16, I was more mature than many of the older people in my life. Somehow that’s changed now and at 30 I’ve the maturity of a teenager, but that’s beside the point. I just hope Courtney doesn’t look back on this time in her life one day and regret not really taking the time to be a teenager. I worry for her but I suppose it’s really none of my business. I wish her the best of luck although I think she’d have a much better chance of having a healthy and happy life if the press would turn the cameras off.

I don’t like Teen Mom. I don’t like anything about it. I’m not a super conservative person. In fact, I’m about as far from a super conservative person as people can get. I didn’t get the big deal about Janet Jackson’s nipple at the Super Bowl. I don’t think a performer dropping the occasional f-bomb on live TV is anything to get all worked up over. Sex and violence on television isn’t an issue for me. Teen Mom, however, really irks me. When I was a teenager, I knew a lot of teen mothers. My best friend got pregnant when she was fifteen. She was terrified to tell her guardian so I went to her doctor’s appointment with her. I saw the look on her face when the doctor told her she was pregnant. She’d been with the same guy – a guy I had been firsts with since first grade, longer than I knew her, actually – for two years. I was the one she came to when he left her because he said he was too young to be a father. More than all of that, I saw what a mess her life was after she had her baby. I can’t help thinking about that friend everything I see Farrah Abraham or any of her Teen Mom cast mates. They make it look glamorous. You know what’s missing from these pictures? Her freaking child. She’s living the dream now and why? Because she popped out a baby when she was still a baby. There are now stories hitting the news of girls that are fifteen or sixteen years old getting pregnant to get a spot on Teen Mom. Does anyone else see something wrong with that picture?

By now, most of you have heard of Courtney Stodden or, as she is more widely known, the ‘Teen Bride’. For those of you who haven’t, here’s the whole disgusting story. Doug Hutchison (“The Green Mile, Lost), 51, married Courtney Stodden, 16, a few months back after Courtney’s mother signed a consent form allowing it to happen. First, I don’t believe for a second that this woman is sixteen. She looks to be at least in her late twenties. I credit that to the layers of makeup she has on her face. When you see pictures of her without all that makeup who looks far younger. Anywho, so naturally, the press ate this story up for the first week or two. Now Doug and Courtney are sort of fading into the background so what better way to get those cameras snapping away again that to slip Courtney into the skimpiest outfit possible for a little ‘holiday shopping’. Where did they choose to do their shopping? Why at known paparazzi hang out, The Grove, of course. As if that’s not enough, Mom decided to tag along as her daughter shopped at Victoria’s Secret. This whole situation is just so insane to me. Then again, who am I to judge. Maybe Doug and Courtney are really and truly in love. I doubt it but I suppose it’s possible. After all, no one thought Demi and Ashton would last and… okay, bad example.

Disney teen star, Miley Cyrus is going big with her new movie on the block, ‘The Last Song’ a Disney film starring Miley along with Liam Hemsworth. About the movie, it’s entirely based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks which will be released soon. Along with its lead roles played by Miley and Liam, The Last Song also includes supporting cast like Greg Kinnear, Kelly Preston, and Bobby Coleman. This movie will sure be a big break for young Miley for her bright future career. The images from the movie show that it will be a refreshing movie for youngsters and teens.

I want to be best friends with Demi Lovato. Sure she’s a bit younger than me but I think we’d have a lot of fun together. We could talk about music and … whatever it is people her age talk about with their friends. It’s kind of weird though. I have some weird older sister instincts when it comes to Demi. I’m very protective of her. Perhaps I feel like I know what she’s gone through or perhaps I just know what it’s like to struggle through the troublesome teenage years. Either way, it irks me when people talk trash about someone who has clearly had a rough go of it at certain points in her life. I respect Demi in a way I respect few young celebrities. She owned up to her problems and took steps to try to improve herself. That takes guts. I appreciate that. I think more entertainers should be like her. She’s an excellent role model in a world where there are few excellent role models to be found.

Isn’t Courtney Stodden’s fifteen minutes of fame up yet? It’s gotta be close. I know, I know. I’m just contributing to the problem by writing about her but it’s my job to write about the photos assigned to me and these photos have been assigned to me so here we are. I get that she’s attractive or whatever so some people like to see photos of her half naked but surely that number of people has to be small. There must be far more people out there who look at the “teen bride” and see desperation and a total lack of self respect. This young lady is almost certainly heading down a bad road. There doesn’t seem to be anyone in her life willing to tell her this is not the way a girl needs to go about getting approval. With all of that said, she does look good in this photoshoot in Hollywood so I guess that will please some people. I’m a big fan of the bikini top/denim shorts combo but I can’t seem to get into these photos – likely because I look at Courtney and I don’t feel anything but sad for this kid.
