I respect Hilary Duff. While her contemporaries were out there getting drunk and going nuts, Hilary managed to keep a good head on her shoulders – at least from outward appearances. I don’t know what she’s like behind the scenes, but she seems so normal. I love the girl, even if I don’t really hear a whole lot about her anymore. Still, every now and then, pictures like these (taken in LA) surface and I’m reminded that Hilary’s still the cutie she was all those years ago. I love her casual, relaxed style and the fact that she doesn’t really seem to let anything bother her. She proves that it is possible to go from pop princess to regular girl without any of the messy drama in between. Love her.

In Hollywood standards, time is running out for Vanessa Hudgens to prove she’s more than a Disney princess. Her last two movies, ‘Band Camp’ and ‘Beastly’, have been less than smash hits. With ‘Sucker Punch’ though, I really think she has the chance to turn that around. Why? She’s playing to her strengths – she’s looking hot, sexy and backing away from the good girl Disney image. These pictures show that pretty well. I honestly think Vanessa can act and she’s a gorgeous girl. If she makes the right career choices I think she has a shot at one day being a leading lady. I have a slightly different view on the whole naked pictures thing. While there have been three separate leaks, it seems they’re all from the same set of pictures and they seem to have been obtained by a ring of hackers that specifically target female celebs (the count is at fifty different victims as I type this). How about leaving the poor girl alone now? My advice to Vanessa is to think back to those pictures and tell everyone what’s in them. Either that or put them out there yourself. The hackers are going to keep leaking them unless they can’t get any money for them. If you release them yourself, you take away their value and can at least control when and how the public sees them. Just a thought. I’d hate to see your career torpedoed by some over zealous hackers who seem to have it in for you.

Katy Perry performed live at Le Zenith in Paris wearing a pink tu-tu. Anyone else would look ridiculous, but Katy actually pulls it off – even though I know people are going to disagree with me there. I think everything about her outfit speaks for who Katy is as an artist. She’s the ultra-girlie sexpot and I love her for playing that role. The thing I like about Katy is that while making pure, unapologetic pop music and dressing in these incredibly over the top girlie outfits, she’s still outspoken and speaks her mind. She is a hybrid of the tough tomboy and super-feminine wannabe princess, and she really makes that combination work the way few others could. Katy made it cool to be girlie again and that is one of the things I appreciate the most about her. That and her boobs. Those things are incredible.

Congratulations, Avril Lavigne. You have the distinction of being the victim of the first celebrity death hoax of 2011. I’m not sure if that deserves congratulations or not, but hey, at least people are still talking about you, right? While some reports had Avril meeting her maker in BC over the holidays, the truth was that Ms. Lavigne was actually having fun and soaking up the sun on the beaches of Hawaii – and looking pretty hot in the process. I love that Avril hits the beach in clothes that normal folks wear instead of taking the opportunity to get a little more attention by showing as much skin as possible. This girl is a pop-punk princess and I can’t wait to see where the future takes her.

Britney Spears has come a long, long way from her head-shaving, paparazzi-boning, umbrella-wielding crazy days and she has the body to prove it. She might have a few extra curves, but welcome to what real women look like. There have been a lot of less than flattering comments about these pictures from Hawaii, but I really don’t see anything wrong with them at all. She looks smokin’ hot, but more importantly, she looks healthy and happy. I’m sure there’s still a little bit of crazy in that pretty blond head. That kind of crazy doesn’t just go away, but she’s learning to deal with it and looking better than she has in a long time in the process. Britney Spears was a pop-princess and I truly believe, we haven’t seen the end of this comeback story yet. With her health coming first now, I think Brit-Brit is here for the long haul.

Russian lingerie model Irina Sheik is simply stunning. From her killer body to her perfect face and long flowing hair, the woman is the stuff of dreams. There is something almost exotic about her beauty. No wonder the world’s top lingerie models are worried about losing their silver tiaras. The princesses of pouty, come hither stares are about to be dethrones because Irina is going to blow them all out of the water. No one knows who was on the other line of that phone but whoever it was is very, very lucky to have scored a little bit of time with this beauty. That little white dress hugs her every curve and brings the men of the world to their knees. Irina has the world at her feet and seems oblivious to it all. She goes about her business barely noticing the cameras snapping her every move. Beautiful and down to earth – definitely a rarity in this business.
