After recently gracing the covers of fashion magazines throughout the country, Miley Cyrus can finally put the cherry on top of the icing following a successful run at the title of Maxim’s hottest. She bested perennial hotties like last year’s number 1, Bar Rafaeli, Selena Gomez, Mila Kunis, and fellow singer Rihanna.

The 20-year-old singer/actress finally hits the mother lode of every woman’s fantasy, saying in an interview, “It feels amazing to be number 1, especially because it was voted on by fans. I have the best fans in the world!” Of course millions of Miley Cyrus fans all over the globe provided her a helping hand in reaching this accomplishment, but the magazine re-established Miley’s dominance citing her status as a global force in the entertainment industry. From seeing her as the young and charming Southern belle in Hannah Montana, to gracing the covers of gossip magazines digging her personal life, especially her somewhat on-again, off-again engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth, Miley has definitely come a long way.

For adolescent boys, being Miley Cyrus’ significant other could perhaps feel like hitting the jackpot in FoxyBingo, but it will surely have its share of burdens. Under the scrutiny of the bright lights of the media, Miley’s life had been a roller coaster ride to say the least. Being involved in a ton of controversies as an under-aged teen, and a tumultuous relationship with paparazzi’s buzzing like flies on her every move. As she puts another feather in her cap with the recent number 1 title, Miley Cyrus’ fame definitely blasts off to new heights. Along with this, her market value rises above the ranks of her former Disney Channel co-stars. But as the saying goes, fame comes with a price, and living under the microscope of people’s eye, the future hangs in the balance for this newly crowned hottie.

I love that the theme for the 2013 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC was ‘punk’. It brought out some really interesting looks. Some of them were interesting in a good way. Some were not. I think Christina Ricci’s plaid gown was interesting in the best possible way. It was glamorous but still stuck to the punk theme in a way that I really think worked. I don’t really find Christina Ricci all that attractive in general but I think that has something to do with the fact that I’ve been told I’m a dead ringer for her since I was but a teenager. I guess there’s resentment there or something. With that said, I think she’s an incredibly talented young lady who has never, ever gotten the respect she deserves as an actress. I hope that changes one day.

I can be a little hard on Demi Moore sometimes but only because I worry about her. She’s a beautiful lady and she’s a talented lady but I sometimes think she’s trying a little too hard to stay youthful. She’s isn’t a teenager anymore and she doesn’t seem to understand that. Of course, pointing that out makes me a complete hypocrite. I’m 30 and have a very hard time remembering I’m not 16 anymore. In any event, Demi looks fantastic in these photos from Mexico. She still has an incredible body. I don’t think she looks like she’s trying too hard to be young in these photos. I would’ve preferred to see a matching bikini or even a mix and match bikini with solid colors but that’s just nit picking. Hypocritical and nit picky in the same post. This has been a good one for me.

Is this girl’s 15 minutes of fame up yet? We’ve gotta be at 14:59, right? Ugh. There is absolutely nothing about Teen Bride Courtney Stodden I like yet here I am writing about her. Why? Because it’s my job. Believe me, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t be. The last thing this ‘lady’ needs is any more attention. This girl is famous because she’s young, hot, blond and married to a man who could almost be considered famous. Well anyway, here’s Courtney out and about in Beverly Hills with her husband/father figure dressed in an outfit almost too ridiculous for words. I’m being harsh now. I apologize. I just really have such a strong distaste for this girl and everything she stands for, it’s hard to be objective. Moving on.

The problem with being a Disney star or a Nickelodeon star is pretty obvious. Your fans don’t want you to grow up. They want you to stay the same. What people don’t realize is that just doesn’t happen. People grow and mature. They change. If stars like Selena Gomez want long lasting careers they have to figure out how to make the transition into more mature projects as seamlessly as possible. The problem with that? Once you’re pegged with the “teen star” label, more mature audiences aren’t always willing to accept you. Now, with all that said, I don’t think that’s going to be a huge problem for Selena Gomez and these photos from Malibu are a great example of why. She doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to grow up too fast. She still has the playful, youthful vibe even though she’s beginning to grow into a more mature young lady. She isn’t going the Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus route and trying to be an ultra sexy bombshell to attract older audiences. I think Selena has a decent chance of having a long career as long as she keeps making smart choices.

I like Angela Simmons. I don’t know what it is about her exactly that I like about her. She’s really mostly well known for being Joseph Simmons’ (legendary musician and producer, Rev Run) daughter and appearing on his reality show, “Run’s House” but for some reason, the fact that she’s really only famous for having a famous father doesn’t really bug me that much with Angela. Perhaps that’s because she’s taken her time in the spotlight and tried to do something positive with it. First, she along with sister, Vanessa, design shoes for their “Pastry” shoe collection but beyond that, Angela also edits “Angela’s Rundown”, a monthly magazine that targets teenagers and discusses issues facing them. I think that’s really important. She seems like a good role model for the most part. Here in Miami, Angela shows off part of why I think she’s someone young girls can look up to. Sure she’s showing a lot of skin, but she’s showing it on the beach and I’ve got no problem with that. What stands out more for me though is the fact that she just looks so comfortable and casual. It doesn’t look to me like a trip to the beach is a press op for Angela. I like that and I respect that. I think there are big things in this girl’s future.
