I’m not all that into fashion. If you’ve been reading my posts for awhile, you likely know that. I try to do my best when it comes to describing outfits and all that jazz but to me, shirts are shirts, skirts are skirts, dresses are dresses and pants are pants. I don’t know all of the technical terms for different articles of clothing. I have no idea what a camisole is. I’m pretty sure a cardigan is a kind of sweater – or a member of a band that was kind of big in the 90s. The rest is lost on me. For that reason, I have no idea what words to use to describe this outfit Rita Ora is wearing in these performance pics from the Newbury Racecourse. I have no idea. There are definitely pants and what could be described as a shirt in some circles but beyond that, I’m lost. I know it’s very loud and very colorful – two words I would use to describe Rita Ora’s personality so as far as I’m concerned, this outfit was the perfect choice for her. While I’m not sure I love it, I’m sure I will remember it. Of course, I can’t finish this post without mentioning that toned tummy of Rita’s. This woman is beautiful. I’m just not sure that’s one of the words I would use to describe this particular wardrobe choice although I do give it points for showing off that belly.

I’m not normally the kind of person that says someone is too curvy or someone is too thin but I worry about Nicole Richie. I always have. When she went through her super skinny period a few years back, I couldn’t help thinking there was something terribly wrong because, yes, there is such a thing as ‘too skinny’. She looked nearly skeletal back then and I was worried about her health. She sought treatment and seemed to be looking healthier and happier for a long time. She got past all the drama and hoopla of her drama days – the DUI arrests, the very brief stay in jail etc – and seemed so much smarter for it. When I look at these photos from the Fashion Awards in NYC, my mind travels back to those days. She doesn’t look unhealthy … yet. I just worry that things could be headed that way again. That’s me. Mother Hen to people I don’t even know. This is what happens when you spend way too much time writing about celebrities and not nearly enough time with your own friends and family members.

Here’s what I love about Rihanna – she’s never afraid to try something different. Sometimes it works for her and other times it doesn’t. The hair she’s rocking in NYC in these photos? I think it works for her. I’m sure there are going to be people lining up to disagree with me but I’m just stating my opinion. I think she’s the kind of woman that sees her style as something that’s constantly evolving and she isn’t afraid to run with that. I’m not sure who she’s sticking her tongue out at in this photo but I dunno, I kind of like it. She has attitude and I’m always a bit fan of a lady with attitude.

I know I’m not supposed to like Kat Von D because of that whole Jesse James thing but I can’t help it. I really do like her. She’s just my kind of woman, I suppose. I love a dark haired woman with milky skin and tattoos so Kat is pretty much my ideal woman physically. With that said, I’m not loving these photos of Kat at a book signing in New York. While Kat looks gorgeous as usual, I’m not sure the outfit she chose was exactly the most flattering option she had. It look okay on her but I guess the skin tight bodysuit thing just doesn’t work for me. Overall though, I’d say I like the photos. I’m just not sure I’m in love with the outfit.

At the height of her popularity, it seemed like Paris Hilton was everywhere. Someone was always talk about something that she’d gotten in trouble for, something stupid she said or some new racy photos that had surfaced of her online. Everything was about Paris. If you were a fan of celebrity gossip she was your dream come true and a nightmare all in one. She was a constant source of great gossip but she was also all anyone ever talked about. She was like that awesome guilty pleasure song you couldn’t get enough of until you’d heard it for the millionth time. Then for a long time, Paris disappeared. You’d hear about her every now and again but generally the news disappeared from the airways as quickly as it appeared. The world’s fascination with Paris Hilton had faded and it was nice. Now that a little time has passed, I’ve found I’ve started enjoying Paris again. These photos are a great example of why. Instead of thinking, “Oh great – Paris Hilton again” while rolling my eyes so hard I pulled muscles, I thought, “Oh! Great! Paris Hilton again!” and clicked excitedly to see the photos. That’s nice for a change.

So is this show called “Celebrity Diving” or “Splash”? I’ve heard it referred to as both and according to the information I got with these photos, these shots were taken on the set of “Splash” in LA. Is that different from “Celebrity Diving”? Did they rename the show? I don’t honestly care either way. Just curious. Anyway, Katherine Webb looks great in her bathing suit in these shots even though it does sort of look as if she may be moments away from bursting out of it in a few of these pictures. I guess that’s probably appealing to some. Anyway, I don’t get why this show exists. I just don’t. It makes no sense. It’s like “Skating with the Stars”, “Stars Earn Stripes” and countless other reality competition shows that take minor celebrities and ask them to learn skills most average people don’t have all in front of constantly rolling television cameras. It works for “Dancing with the Stars” because dancing lends itself well to that. Diving? I’m not so sure. I guess we’ll see how this one goes. I foresee a rather quick cancellation but I’ve been wrong before.
