See now, this is why I have a hard time not getting all judgey with Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison. I want to believe that they’re really in love and they’re super happy and that they just couldn’t wait until she turned 18 to be together. True love waits for no man, right? It’s possible. But then I see pictures like these ones of a hyper-sexualized 17 year old girl who happens to be married to a 51 year old man and I get the creeps. I can’t help it. She’s cute, yes. She’s gorgeous, in fact. She’s also seriously making my Mom instincts come bubbling to the surface and those instincts are buried pretty deep, let me tell you. I just want to tell her there is another way – that she doesn’t have to parade around for her creepy old man hubby to make a name for herself. Of course, it is her choice and if Courtney’s own mother is okay with it, there must be something I’m not seeing. I hope.

I often say I prefer the more casual, candid pics of Miley Cyrus to her more glammed up shots but these pictures taken outside Miley’s Pilates class in Hollywood are a nice compromise. She looks a little more dressed up than she has looked in other Pilates class pictures we’ve seen but to be honest, I can’t imagine this is what she’ll actually be wearing in class. I know some people have been giving Miley a hard time for hitting the street looking a little less than put together. I hope that’s not why she chose to dress it up a little here. I guess in the end it doesn’t matter. She still looks comfortable and happy. I have no problem with that.

Have I mentioned how much I love Maria Menounos lately? The lady is just flat out adorable. Everything about her makes me smile. I’m loving her on “Dancing with the Stars” and I’m especially loving her chemistry with pro dancing partner Derek Hough. Is Derek the pretty blond boy in some of these photos? Why yes. Yes he is. Does that mean there’s truth to the rumors that these two are bumping and grinding off the dance floor as well? I doubt it. I remember those rumors about Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy a few seasons back. There are rumors about one couple or another every season. I guess it’s just Derek’s turn. Sure they’re hanging out at Mixology 101 in Los Angeles together but there are a lot of people other there. My guess? They’re friends and nothing more although stranger couples have definitely happened.

Here’s what I love about Mena Suvari. When Mena heads out for a jog, I really get the impression she’s doing it because she likes taking care of herself and enjoys jogging. It doesn’t seem to be about a good photo op and it doesn’t seem to be an excuse to get photographed wearing next to nothing. Sure there are probably less revealing things she could’ve chosen to wear but to me, that’s not what these pictures are about. These pictures are about Mena working out, staying fit and being comfortable with her body and with who she is. I love everything about this girl. She’s been one of my favorite actresses for a long time.

Are we really still talking about this girl? In my always very humble opinion, Courtney Stodden (or the Teen Bride as she’s likely more commonly known) is a whole new low in “famous for being famous” celebrities. As a culture, I think we’re often fascinated by things we don’t understand. I think we like to be angry and outraged and for a lot of people, 16 year old Courtney’s marriage (her husband is 51 year old actor, Doug Hutchison) has drawn so much attention for both of those reasons. We not only can’t understand why this beautiful young woman would marry a man so much older than her but also why her mother would give permission for such a thing to happen. It makes people angry. I try to keep an open mind about everything but this one is really tricky for me. Here in Malibu, Courtney actually looks happy. Maybe all the outrage is unwarranted. If she’s happy, healthy and feels good about the decisions she’d made, that’s her business. I don’t believe a girl her age is incapable of making smart decisions. When I was 16, I was more mature than many of the older people in my life. Somehow that’s changed now and at 30 I’ve the maturity of a teenager, but that’s beside the point. I just hope Courtney doesn’t look back on this time in her life one day and regret not really taking the time to be a teenager. I worry for her but I suppose it’s really none of my business. I wish her the best of luck although I think she’d have a much better chance of having a healthy and happy life if the press would turn the cameras off.

While reading over some information about Rita Rusic to do this post, I was a little disturbed by a few things. Those things don’t relate to Rita per say but rather about the kind of trash talk people like to talk about her appearance, especially when she slips into a bikini. That sincerely bugs me. First, I think she looks incredible. Let’s just remember for a second that Rita isn’t in her early twenties anymore like many of the woman we often feature on this site. She’s in her early fifties and I’d say she looks pretty damn good for her age. What I find most appealing about her though is her confidence. I love these pictures. Rita is beautiful, strong and confident – all things I admire very much.
