Every time I’m assigned a set of Courtney Stodden pictures, I tell myself that I’m going to be open minded and not have a preconceived notion of what I should expect. I tell myself that the set of photos will be different than all of the other ones we’ve seen. I tell myself she’ll have found some self respect hidden at the bottom of her lingerie drawer and realize she doesn’t have to be half naked to be worth something. Then I open the photos and it’s more of the same old thing. We get it Courtney. You have a nice body. What else do you have? Can you act? Can you sing? Can you do anything other than strike the same exact poses in different costumes. I have to say though, this new set of photos is an all time low for this girl. “Washing a car” in a teeny tiny bikini and big ass heels? That’s not new. It’s not interesting. It’s been done and it’s been done better. If you’re going to steal the same idea a million other women had before you, at least do it better. Otherwise you wind up looking like a lame imitation. You want to be shocking and get attention? Show us you have a brain in that bleach blonde head. That would be truly mind blowing.

I love Penelope Cruz. I think she’s classy, beautiful, talented and she looks damn good in a bikini, baby bump or no baby bump. I have always had a special place in my heart for pregnant women who aren’t ashamed of their bulging bellies. With that said, I find it a little … bizarre, we’ll say, when a woman feels the need to pose naked with the exposed baby bump for magazine covers and glossy photo spreads. It was inspiring when Demi Moore did it. She took control and proved that a woman can be pregnant and sexy. But it’s been done now. It’s been done and done and done. We get it. You’re proud of your belly and that’s cool but do we need to see a naked photo spread to be convinced? No! And Penelope Cruz has proved that in these shots from Barbados. She’s just out enjoying a nice day in a bikini. I think that’s fantastic.

Yup – I don’t care what anyone says. I love, love, love these pictures. Taylor Momsen isn’t my favorite teen celeb out there and her penchant for hitting the stage half naked and flashing her underwear disturbs me, but here at an event in Tokyo, I think Taylor looks great. The hair, the dress, the boots – all very retro and very appealing, at least in my opinion. She reminds me a bit of Twiggy or Bridget Bardot – two of the most beautiful women in history as far as I’m concerned. Sure I didn’t like much of what came out of Bardot’s mouth later in her life, but her beauty was undeniable… kind of like Taylor. I’d like to see Taylor grow into a mature, successful woman one day. I really hope that happens.

As a Canadian, I always feel the need to like Canadian celebrities. It’s a country pride thing. I’m proud to be Canadian and I’m proud of the talent Canada produces. Then there’s Jayde Nicole. Why do I have a problem with her and not Pam Anderson? I can’t quite explain it, to be honest. Jayde is pretty and mostly famous for her Playboy pictorials for which she was named Playmate of the Year in 2008. Pam is pretty and mostly famous – well, okay, Pam’s famous for more than just Playboy but most of it involves being either naked or scantily clad. There’s just something about Jayde that rubs me the wrong way. Perhaps it was falsely accusing Joe Francis (of Girl’s Gone Wild Fame) of punching her in the face. I hate women who lie about things like that. It makes it harder for women who are actually the victims of violence at the hands of men have a harder time proving it. Low.

Wow – desperate housewife indeed. Eva Longoria is without question one of the most beautiful women in the world, but you’d never know it to look at this pictures. One has to remember that Eva is filming in LA and the frumpy clothes and less than glamorous hair is likely something she is doing for her role. Before long I’m sure we’ll be treated to some steamy bikini photos of Mrs. Tony Parker enjoying the sun and sand, but for now, this is what we get; Eva Longoria looking like she just rolled out of bed and threw on one of Tony’s sweaters. Even so, Eva’s still a babe. This just isn’t how we want to see her; half naked and flaunting her curves.

Jessica Simpson is beautiful, even if people don’t recognize her for her acting talents. Her shower scene here is provocative and interesting. Jessica’s cover shot for Esquire magazine in May 2008 showed her shaving because she had to replicate Virna Lisi’s pose that was done in March 1965. The act of a woman shaving was meant to suggest the equal standing of women and thus advocate equal rights for women. Jessica did a good job in her imitation of Virna Lisi.
