I know a lot of people say women looking for a little publicity boost will flash their panties ‘on purpose’. I don’t think that’s always the case. Wearing a short skirt and getting in a car can be a little difficult without flashing a little something. I really think that was the case with Paulina Rubio. Seriously? Are we still talking about Kate Gosselin? There are few ‘celebrities’ I hate more than this baby making machine. I loathe her and everything she stands for. About the only thing I hate more than Kate is her former partner in crime whose name I refuse to mention. I just wish they would both disappear into oblivion, allowing the rest of the world to forget they ever existed. The Gosselins represent for me everything wrong with the world today. They’re greedy, money hungry scum bags willing to sell out their own kids to turn a buck. She popped out eight kids and that makes her famous? That makes her news worthy? The only thing that makes her to me is yet another bored suburban housewife who thinks having more kids to add to the over population and over consumption that is going to destroy the world will make her feel more happy and more fulfilled. Your kids are going to look back on their time on reality TV and hate you. They’ll hate you and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself. Now that the kids aren’t enough to keep your name in your headlines you’ll take your clothes off to get the flashbulbs popping. The only thing that makes this whole disaster worse is that its working. Here I am writing about you, Kate Gosselin and that makes me feel so dirty I need to go have a shower. No cameras allowed.

Get it? Because her band is called The Pretty Reckless. Yeah, lame, I know. Anyway, moving on. I don’t really know what I think of Taylor Momsen anymore. It seems like every move she makes is premeditated to make her look as bad ass as possible, but the more out there she gets, the more innocent I believe she is. Sure flashing her underage breasts on stage at one of her most recent gigs turned some heads. I, on the other hand, just rolled my eyes and yawned a little. It’s old news. This is what we know about Momsen. She has no problem talking about masturbation and her love for her vibrator. She blames her parents for her behavior because they pushed her into acting. I happen to think that’s probably the truest statement that’s ever come out of her mouth. That said, Taylor – performing here at The Academy in Manchester – is no more of a wild child that her pop culture counterpart, Miley Cyrus. The difference is Taylor wants you to think she’s as bad ass as Miley probably is. She isn’t though. She’s a little girl trying to play ball with the big kids – and she’s striking out. She comes across as a sad girl desperate for attention and I’m guessing that’s really closer to the truth.

Hey everybody look! We can see what we’ve already seen a million times but this time covered (if you can call that covered) by a thin layer of material. Who cares anymore? I demand to know. Is this still shocking? Is this still news? Paris Hilton has an ass and she appears to be quite proud of it. I can’t entirely understand why, though. It’s not really all that spectacular. It’s clear Paris wants to get her name in the headlines again so she’s flashing her rear. And it worked. I’m writing about it right now. And it will continue to work. I just hope she gets over this little habit before she’s old and grey. No one wants to see that. Well, I suppose some people do. There’s a market for everything out there these days.

Hey look, everyone! Miley Cyrus wearing barely anything on the American Music Awards red carpet in LA. That’s totally new and shocking! We’ve never seen her half naked before. Seriously, Miley Cyrus? This is how you show us you’re all grown up? I have a better idea. Put out a movie that doesn’t target an audience of 12-16 year old girls. How about maybe making some music that isn’t mindless pop junk. Being a slut and flashing your body doesn’t make you grown up or mature. I mean, a lot of people can use a lot of words to describe Katy Perry – also known for flashing her body – but mature probably wouldn’t be on that list. And really, who wants another Katy Perry? We already have one. I wouldn’t mind seeing the real Miley Cyrus for once. Wouldn’t that be fun?

In a world full of drama and scandal prone teen idols, Selena Gomez is a breath of fresh air. In these pictures from behind the scenes for her 2011 clothing line, Selena looks fresh faced, innocent and beautiful. She doesn’t need to flash her various body parts to feel try to get her name in the headlines; although that might be why her more rehab inclined counterparts get more attention. The great thing about Gomez is you really get the feeling that while she might like a little more of the spotlight shining on her, she knows the kind of attention her peers get isn’t the kind of attention she wants. I don’t want this to come across in any way as a dig at Demi Lovato. I think it took a lot of guts for a girl her age to admit she has problems she needs help with. Even so, it’s nice to see her pal Selena looking healthy, happy and – most importantly – drama free.
