Okay, I’m not positive these shots are from dance class but that’s the impression I get so I’m going with it. Anyway, that’s not what we’re here to talk about. We’re here to talk about Katie Holmes. Here’s what I think. People are way to hard on this girl. She’s beautiful. She’s talented. She seems like a nice enough person. She’s married to Tom Cruise. It seems to be that last one that trips people up. I don’t get why. Sure Tom went a little nuts but he seems to have gotten himself together again and really, what does Tom’s mental state have to do with Katie? I worry about Katie but not because of who she’s married to per say but because of what who she’s married to is doing to her career. She’s been one of my favorite actresses since her days on “Dawson’s Creek” but it seems to me that she has to struggle these days to be taken seriously and that’s just not fair. I hope that changes someday. She’s too talented to live in Tom’s shadow forever.

The last time I posted about Jessica Jane Clement, I confused her with a porn star. I will not make that same mistake again. Jessica Jane is not in fact a porn star but is instead a model, actress and television personality. She’s almost completely smoking hot. That really should’ve been my first clue that she wasn’t the girl I thought she was. Sure porn stars can be hot but they’re usually not this kind of hot. Even during an underwear photoshoot there’s something classy about Jessica. Perhaps it’s the way she carries herself. Regardless, she looks absolutely beautiful in these pictures and I feel my whole day is better for having seen them.

There was a time when Elle Macpherson was my favorite model in the world. I lost track of her for a while so it’s nice to see this set of pictures pop up on my assignment list. I’ve been meaning to see what she’s been up to and according to these pictures taken recently in Sydney she’s been busy staying gorgeous. It’s always nice to check in on one of my favorite models and see they’re still just as stunning as I remember. I always liked Elle because she didn’t seem entirely hung up on herself. She’s a gorgeous woman but she seems to know how to relax and enjoy the life she’s made for herself. A lot of people don’t respect models and I don’t really get why that is. I certainly respect Elle and everything she’s accomplished. It’s good to see her enjoying the spoils of a long and successful career.

I’m not a big fan of what Christmas has become. It’s all about what gifts you get and give now when it should be about family or food or something. My disdain for the holiday likely stems from the fact that, as a freelance writer, I’m perpetually broke. Anyway, this year, Elle Macpherson gave a gift I can really get behind – sexy snaps of her in a bikini on a beach in Australia. Since I love making lists, here’s a list of why I love these pictures so much:

1. They were taken in Australia and I kinda have a thing for Australia.
2. They star Elle Macpherson and I kinda have a thing for Elle Macpherson.
3. They show Elle sharing a day on the beach with her family and I like seeing people spend Christmas with their families.
4. Elle is in a bikini and she’s smoking hot.
5. I don’t need a five.

I freely admit to being a complete Scrooge but consider these pictures my ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. They really put me in the holiday spirit. Too bad Christmas is over until next year. Ah well. There’s always New Year’s Eve.

Some of the other celebrity websites are going crazy over these pictures. They’re making a pretty big deal about the fact that you can see Rihanna’s nipples through her bikini top. I doubt Rihanna cares in the least but all the same, I’m going to skip focusing on that one aspect of the pictures. Attention has been called to the nipple issue so I’ll move on now. What I like about these pictures is how much fun it looks like Rihanna is having. This is a lady enjoying her downtime in Barbados and I think that’s awesome to see. I’m a big Rihanna fan. I make no secret of that. Pictures like these ones only make me like her more.

Miley Cyrus is like a scandal magnet but I don’t think that’s entirely fair. She’s a young girl doing the things most young girls do. It just so happens she’s doing them in front of the whole world. I honestly couldn’t care less if she likes to smoke weed on occasion. I also like the fact that she mostly tries to keep it under wraps. A lot of people look up to her but what she does behind closed doors is really her business and hey, there are a lot worse things out there she could get sticking her nose in. I’ve been pretty hard on Miley but always about what she chooses to wear on stage or what she chooses to do or say in public. These pictures from Hawaii are some of the best pictures I’ve ever seen of Miley. She looks gorgeous and I’m certainly not going to get on her back for flashing a lot of skin at the beach. I’ve always liked candid shots of Miley far more than her publicity photos. It’s nice to see Miley just being Miley instead of trying to be the girl her publicity team wants her to be. I’m not her biggest fan – or even really a fan at all – but I am interested to see what she does with her career from here.
