I have long hated Gwyneth Paltrow. Everything about his is pretentious. You can almost imagine the size of the rod that must be up her ass for her to be so incredibly uptight. Then ‘Glee’ happened. What the hell was that? She was… funny. She was… lighthearted. That isn’t the Gwyn I know and hate. I actually kind of liked her. Does that mean I have to rethink my whole position on Paltrow and admit that maybe I was wrong. Why yes. Yes it does. I would like to take a moment to publicly apologize to Gwyneth Paltrow for mindlessly hating her based only on her creation of the ridiculously snobby Goop. (Still hate Goop, Gwyn. Sorry.) Keep us laughing. And while you’re at it, keep showin’ off that hot body of yours in dress like the one you wore to the premiere of Country Strong. Love the tie accents on the dress. It shows a lot of skin but somehow doesn’t look trashy. Classy. We’re cool now, Gwyn but really – we gotta talk about Goop. Call me.
I like Gwyneth. I like that she’s able to surprise me. Like, for the loooongest time I didn’t even know she could sing ’til I heard her singing Forget You.
And then after that I saw her on The Graham Norton Show and she was saying she’s into ’90s hip hop. She started rapping Straight Outta Compton! She wasn’t great but it was the fact she was into it that surprised me.
I don’t particularly like her in that white dress. I think it would have looked better with just her back showing. Just my opinion though.
I’ve known she could sing since she was in “Duets” but it was great seeing her on “Glee”. I keep hoping she’s going to come back. I didn’t see her on Graham Norton though. I think I’ll need to look that up. She always struck me as very stuck up and out of touch but I’m starting to think that may have been a misconception fed by the press.
I saw her in Duets too, but I assumed her singing parts were voiceovers. My bad. In which case, she’s amazing.
I’ve heard about her stint on Glee, but haven’t watched it.
Her on the Graham Norton Show is on you-tube.
Yep, I think the press might have had a lot to do with it. But if she’s acted stuck-up at times, she’s human. I tend to watch interviews with celebrities than what the tabloids say. Interviews, to me, show a truer measure of the celeb’s personality.
Agreed, Sam. I don’t often listen to the tabloids either but it’s important to remember interviews don’t always tell the real story anyway. It’s little things she’s said in interviews that led me to believe she was stuck up but it’s also interviews (and her Glee appearance) that really changed my mind about her. She’s far more capable of making fun of herself and her reputation than I imagined. As for the Glee thing, I would recommend YouTubing her performance of Adele’s “Turning Tables” for the show. Also, she did her own singing in “Country Strong” and she did a great job.
Yeah, I agree. An interview can sometimes be like a performance, so you really don’t see what the celebrity’s like. However, I’d take that over a tabloid story any day.
I’m gonna look on YouTube for the Glee performance you mentioned. Thanks!
I never knew that she could sing either but she sounds fantastic. And that dress is driving me wild. Shows off just enough skin to get me going. Gwyneth is a fine young lady and she knows how to dress.
