Amanda Seyfried is one of my favorite young actresses in Hollywood right now. I’ve been a big fan of her work since Mean Girls and love that she’s finally starting to get some of the attention she deserves. While it’s true that I didn’t really care for ‘Dear John’ or ‘Letters to Juliet’, they got her name out there and got people looking at her as a realistic leading lady. I think she has real talent which she gets to really put on display in Big Love. While I’m sad to see the show ending, I’m excited to see where Amanda’s career takes her. I am disheartened, however, to see her getting mixed up with notorious womanizer Ryan Phillippe. Hopefully things work out better for her with him than they did for Reese Witherspoon and Abbie Cornish.

The real tragedy of Repo! A Genetic Opera was that Paris Hilton was in it. I have a real love hate thing going on with Paris but, while she did a great job in Repo, I couldn’t help being a little perturbed by the fact that Paris stole the spotlight from young Alexa Vega. As Shilo Wallace, Alexa burst out of the Spy Kids shadow and really showed the world that she was all grown up. At least she would have if Paris hadn’t stolen the show. Regardless, since then, I have been in love with this girl. She’s beautiful, talented and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. It’s easy to get caught up in the fame game and lose a part of yourself, but Alexa seems to have both feet planted firmly on the ground. Always nice to see in young Hollywood. I think she has a great career ahead of her, regardless of what path she chooses to take.

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve heard anything about Megan Fox. There for a while, it seemed she was all over the place. Then Megan got married and sort of just disappeared. I kind of liked that. Megan sort of bothers me. I know Michael Bay is a gigantic male version of the c-word, but she sort of killed her career by bad mouthing him. There are just certain things you don’t do in Hollywood and that’s one of them. Regardless, she’s still smoking hot and I’m sure she’ll make a comeback. Most of her recent movies have been a flop, but not always deservedly so. I actually really liked Johan Hex although that had a lot more to do with Josh Brolin than Megan. I guess only time will tell. Maybe Megan will learn not to bite the hand that feeds her. Even if you feel like you’ve had enough food, there might come a time when you’re hungry again.

I love all the attention Chloe Sevigny has been getting over recent interviews she’s done discussing her romantic life and the Brown Bunny (non-simulated) BJ scene because it means the press is paying more attention to her which means more bikini pictures. I will never argue with bikini pictures of one of my favorite actresses especially when the actress is as hot as Chloe. What I like about Chloe is that she has never conformed to Hollywood standards of beauty and fashion. She’s almost as well known for her often unusual fashion choices as she is for her acting chops. I respect that and I respect her. I love this girl and can’t wait to see what she does after Big Love, her current gig, shuts down for good.

If you need proof that Salma Hayek is awesome, check out her guest appearances on 30 Rock. It’s one of my personal favorite comedies on the air right now and she was one of the best guest stars the show has had. Salma is funny, sexy and doesn’t take herself so seriously she can’t poke fun at herself. I love these pictures of Salma because they serve as just further evidence that Salma is not only a babe, but is also a babe that isn’t afraid to look human. Although she has a little cellulite in some of the pictures and doesn’t have a perfectly flat stomach, she still looks incredible. I’d rather see one picture of Salma than a hundred pictures of waif thin actresses that look like that haven’t eaten a sandwich in years. Salma is one of my favorite actresses in Hollywood. Hope she comes back to 30 Rock someday.

I recently heard a story about Halle Berry from the set of one of her movies. It involved the infamous “don’t look the star in the eyes, don’t speak to the star” signs common on many Hollywood movie sets. You know, the pretentious, ‘better than you’ signs some celebs demand to make sure they don’t have to speak to the ‘little people’. I prepared myself – ready to have my illusions of Ms. Berry blown out of the water. I was wrong. Instead of demanding the signs, Halle demanded they be removed. She then took the entire cast and crew for dinner to show them she knows she isn’t any better than any of them and wouldn’t be anywhere without the people that work on the movies she’s in. Love that. There is no ego with Halle. More proof? She pumps her own gas. Here at a local gas station in Los Angeles, California, Berry doesn’t have an assistant get out and pump her gas. She does it herself. While that might not seem like a big deal, try to find pictures of other celebs of her caliber doing the same thing. Gonna be hard to do, my friends.
