… once upon a time, a pretty young woman went to a football game to watch her boyfriend play. A commentator covering the game made a few comments about how lucky this basketball player was as well as a few comments about how attractive this young woman was. All hell then broke loose. The young woman in question? Katherine Webb, who was Miss Alabama at the time. Her boyfriend? AJ McCarron, quarterback for Alabama. The commentator was Brent Musburger. Does any of this ring a bell at all? After the public uproar, Webb said she felt the media was being unfair to Musburger (a sentiment I strongly agreed with) but she definitely didn’t seem to mind the spike her popularity took as a result. She parlayed the drama into a spot on the misguided celebrity high diving show, creatively titled ‘Splash’, and covered Super Bowl XLVII for Inside Edition.

Guys, I won’t even lie – I am obsessed with Dancing with the Stars. I start looking forward to the next season as soon as a winner is crowned the season before. When Merryl and Maks won this year, I nearly wept. Here’s the thing though, as much as I like Dancing with the Stars, I’m not a huge Cheryl Burke fan. I don’t dislike her, per say, but she’s definitely not my favorite pro on the show. She’s a great dancer and a beautiful woman but I’ll take Anna Trebunskaya, Karina Smirnoff or Kym Johnson over her any day. With all that out of the way though, I have to admit Cheryl is looking pretty killer in these photos. I like the dress. It looks fabulous on her. Shoes look a tad uncomfortable though.

So my history with Vanessa Hudgens is a little complicated. When I first started writing for this sit, I was decidedly anti-Hudgens, feeling she was nothing but another annoying Disney brat with too much money and not enough common sense. In the years since, I have really come to like and respect Vanessa. Yes, she had a hard go of it for a while and yes, it was all her fault but she didn’t retreat and hide. She moved on. She kept working and kept going about her life and eventually, all of it was a distant memory that Vanessa seemed to have risen above. What I like most about Vanessa though is her willingness to take chances with her career. I think that could really pay off in the long run. In any event, in these shots, something crazy has happened. I’m more focused on looking at beautiful Vanessa than trying to figure out whether I hate or love Nic Cage today. That man confuses the crap out of me. Is he talented? I honestly have no freaking idea. Ugh. But… yay! Vanessa!

Is anyone else getting tired of hearing about Selena Gomez or tired of seeing her face on every other website? We get it. She’s cute, she’s young, she’s rich and she’s kinda being scandalous at the moment but can’t we just back off and leave her alone? These are pretty old photographs at this point but I don’t care. I think she looks good in them and they kind of remind me of the Selena of old – the girl I liked and had such high hopes for. Totally unfair of me as she is just a young girl doing what a lot of young girls do but… never mind. This is going to turn into a rant and I rant enough about this kid. Moving on.

A few months ago, I noticed something taking place on the Selena Gomez posts I did – people seemed to like to congregate there to argue about whether Selena Gomez sucks or is just about the best thing ever. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground in the debate – until now. That’s right. I am the middle ground. I don’t have much of an opinion about her one way or the other. On one hand, she didn’t go quite as nuts as her on again off again boyfriend. On the other hand, she still went pretty nuts. That bugs me because I used to champion Miss. Gomez. I held her up as a great example of young celebs who were making it work and clearly she made an enormous fool out of me. I find it hard to look at these snaps of Selena Gomez on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” in Los Angeles without imagining what her future will be. Not fun.

That is not a bad thing. I promise. Seriously should, I love Dita Von Teese with such passion I can’t even control myself. I look at these photos, snapped at the House of Blues, Chicago, and I just want to scream. She’s so glamorous and beautiful. She can be over the top sexy without looking slutty. I know there are lots and lots of people out there who will disagree with me. I say go ahead. You have your opinion and I have mine. My opinion is that Dita is by far one of the most beautiful women in the entertainment industry today and what she does is out of this world. Love her to bits and pieces and these photos show exactly why.
