I was excited about “Smash” when it premiered last season. I have been a big fan of Katharine McPhee since her time on “American Idol” and was excited to see her on television again. By the end of the first season, I had decidedly mixed feelings about the show. It wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. To be honest, I forgot all about it until I saw these photos from the set. They show what I loved most about the show – Miss. McPhee. After filming ‘Smash’ in SoHo, New York City, Katharine clearly looks gorgeous as she gets ready to leave. I think the dress she’s wearing looks beautiful on her. Do the pictures make me any more excited for the upcoming second season of the show? Not really. I’m hoping they focus on one or two main stories this season. There was so much going on in the first season it was hard to care about any of it. Not enough character development for me. I have hope for the second season but I’m not holding my breath. One thing is certain though – good or bad, Katharine will look and sound fantastic.

I like Jennifer Love Hewitt. I’ve liked her for a long time – since her Party of Five days. While I never actually watched Party of Five, or The Ghost Whisperer for that matter, I like JLH as a personality. She seems like the type of girl you could just hang out with and talk about… I don’t know. Whatever normal girls talk about. She seems down to earth. What I like most about her is she’s always been able to laugh at herself. That changed somewhere along the way, though. I think it was around the time she was vilified by the media for daring to put on a few pounds. It’s a shame, really. God forbid a woman look healthy. Anyway, since then, Jennifer has seemed a little more humorless and that’s sad. Then pictures like these come along and I remember what I loved most about her. I’m not talking about her body – although, let’s be honest, that’s a hard body not to love. I’m talking about her playfulness and her ability to look almost innocent while taking her clothes off for the camera. She’s sexy and sweet – an irresistible combination if you can get it right and Jennifer definitely gets it right.

Oh Candice Swanepoel. How I do love thee. What a stunning woman. Sometimes when I see photos of her, I have a hard time remembering that I have a job to do. I find myself wanting to sit and stare at the pictures instead of typing the post to accompany them. She’s a distraction but a beautiful one so it’s okay. Here in St. Barts, Candice shows off her beautiful body is a series of bikinis for what I assume is a new Victoria’s Secret shoot and I can’t find a single thing to complain about. She has such a lovely smile. That’s really what gets me about her. When she smiles, it’s like she’s smiling from the heart. I love this lady and I love these photos.

Here’s the thing about me and “Jersey Shore”. I was among the many, many “Jersey Shore” haters before I’d actually watched the show. I think that’s pretty typical honestly. This show gets so much bad press it’s hard to be objective. The exploits of the cast are pretty common knowledge whether you’ve even turned in to a single episode. I doubt I ever would’ve bothered giving the show a chance had I not been asked to write season three episode recaps for another website I write for. I like to be as informed as possible so I checked out the first two seasons before diving into three. To my surprise, I kind of enjoyed the show. It was definitely a guilty pleasure but I found that I was interested in what these crazy kids got up to. There was one real strong point for me – Jennifer “Jwoww” Farley. This is one strong, confident babe. She doesn’t take crap and I respect that. Is she a shining example of morality? No, of course not, but she’s on “Jersey Shore”. No one expects that of her. By the time season four rolled around, I was kind of excited but every guilty pleasure has it’s breaking point and that point came surprisingly early in season four for me. All of the ridiculous drama got old. I got tired of listening to all the fighting. Sammi and Ronnie, Snooki and her man, The Situation and, well, everyone. Nope. Done. Still, we had a good run and my affection for Jwoww lives on.

I’ve always been a big Jenny McCarthy fan. I don’t like her acting or her movies but I love her personality. She’s one of those super hot babes that can hang with the boys and fit in perfectly. That takes a special kind of girl and Jenny is definitely it. She gets a bit of a hard time in Hollywood for being a little less than ladylike and some people like to call her crazy, but she’s the good, fun kind of crazy and I love that about her. Here in Malibu, Jenny shows off her still buff body and looks to be having a great time while she does it. I’m not sure who the guy is although I feel like I probably should. It’s hard to say with Jenny, though. She doesn’t seem like the type of girl who gets all hung up on settling down and getting married. She’s a sexy girl enjoying her life and that’s pretty alluring. I love this woman – crazy or not.

I always wonder what the deal is with these public workouts. Here in London, an apparently chilly Imogen Thomas gets in a quick workout in front of the cameras snapping away at her every move. Having been on ‘Big Brother’ she’s probably used to all the cameras to start with. Now that news has broken that she has an affair with married footballer, Ryan Giggs, she seems poised to deal with even more cameras following her around. I’m sure that wasn’t her motivation when getting involved with Ryan at all. Am I being sarcastic? I don’t even know anymore. It seems that there are so many women out there who are willing to do that, it’s hard not to paint them all with the same brush. I’m going to give Imogen the benefit of the doubt, though. Why? I guess I’m just having a good day.
