It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to rant about my distaste for Miley Cyrus and it seems it’s going to be a bit longer. I think Miley looks adorable in her little sundress – not overly sexualized. Not flashing more skin than she needs to flash. She looks fresh, youthful and happy. I like this Miley. The popstar Miley who is catching heat for writhing around half naked on a bed (and various other places) in her new video for ‘Who Owns My Heart’, I can do without. Why can’t Miley just be herself? She can’t really sing, but I’ve heard worse out there. If she actually put real, human emotions into some of her music, she might be okay. It makes me angry that it’s considered generally acceptable to let her pass on sex and seduction but little else. She’ll look back on these days in time and realize she made all the wrong decisions. It’s a shame her career will probably be over by then.

She’s still projecting the ever so cute girl next door, and that’s why it comes as no surprise that you’ll mostly find her dress to uphold that image. So, even if she’s posing by the best pools, she’ll be most comfortable in short tunic dresses that always helps her keep up her god girl image. As such, we’re not even looking for sexy pictures, and once again present you another Miley Cyrus sweet innocent image. Miley Cyrus was on the set of “Hannah” when these pictures were taken. She looked really pretty and fair in her floral swimsuit . Miley has been hit by another scandalous picture controversy. Writers passed on photos that were supposedly hacked from Miley’s cell phone memory card. The pictures showed Miley in a wet T shirt in the shower and various other poses. A new controversy has erupted that claimed these photos were fake ones.

The problem with being a Disney star or a Nickelodeon star is pretty obvious. Your fans don’t want you to grow up. They want you to stay the same. What people don’t realize is that just doesn’t happen. People grow and mature. They change. If stars like Selena Gomez want long lasting careers they have to figure out how to make the transition into more mature projects as seamlessly as possible. The problem with that? Once you’re pegged with the “teen star” label, more mature audiences aren’t always willing to accept you. Now, with all that said, I don’t think that’s going to be a huge problem for Selena Gomez and these photos from Malibu are a great example of why. She doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to grow up too fast. She still has the playful, youthful vibe even though she’s beginning to grow into a more mature young lady. She isn’t going the Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus route and trying to be an ultra sexy bombshell to attract older audiences. I think Selena has a decent chance of having a long career as long as she keeps making smart choices.

I know Katy Perry takes a lot of guff for her often revealing stage attire, but I don’t really see the big deal. Katy is a grown woman. If she wants to show a little t & a that’s her right and I’m fine with it. I love the pictures and I love that she at least has fun with it. She isn’t hung up on looking like a sexpot all the time. Her stage costumes have a little bit of personality at least and I appreciate that. I have seen far younger girls than her (Miley Cyrus and Taylor Momsen come to mind) wearing clothes that are just a provocative as Katy. I have a much bigger problem with those girls hitting the stage in next to nothing because they’re just girls. They’re not adults. Is Katy a bad role model? Perhaps, but she’s no worse than any of the other women out there in popstar land who do the same thing. Here at the UCF Arena in Orlando, Katy looks like she’s having fun and she looks good while she’s doing it. No complaints from me there.
