I don’t really know what to say about Nicole Scherzinger. She’s beautiful, talented and has a fantastic body yet her solo career hasn’t exactly gone smoothly. Normally I’d say that being hot isn’t enough to win over the general public but, A) I’m not so sure that’s true and B) Nicole has more than enough talent to hold her own with some of the world’s biggest pop divas. Perhaps the market is just too saturated these days. Perhaps there’s something about Nicole the general public doesn’t connect with. Perhaps the songs she’s chosen as singles haven’t been all that great. I’m going to go with the last perhaps. I still believe she’ll have that hit she’s after one of these days. All the same, Nicole doesn’t seem too concerned with all that in these photos from her vacation with Lewis Hamilton in Italy. She seems like she’s pretty relaxed. I say good for her. No need to worry about Nicole. I think she’ll be fine no matter what happens.

I’ve been a big Natasha Bedingfield fan since she released her first album, “Unwritten”. I haven’t loved every single song she’s released (I’m very undecided on “I Wanna Have Your Babies”) but I’ve enjoyed the majority of her music. Although her career has seen a few ups and downs but I love the fact that she doesn’t seem to let any of the ‘downs’ get to her. She just keeps moving forward and evolving as an artist. I respect that. While music will likely always be what I think of when I think of Natasha, I am excited that she’s branched out into acting with “Russian Winter”. These photos of her, taken at the “Russian Winter” Premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, show Natasha looking just as beautiful as ever in a lovely and flattering white dress. I’ve seen a lot of negative comments about her physical appearance (especially on her IMDB) page but I really don’t get why. She might not be what one would typically think of when they think “beautiful” but perhaps that’s why I find her so appealing.

Doutzen Kroes started working for Victoria’s Secret in 2004 and officially became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2008 and I have been a big fan of hers since the very beginning of her time at VS. She’s just so beautiful. There’s a sort of retro vibe about her that really appeals to me. More than the fact that she’s beautiful though, I love the work Doutzen does with Live to Dance, a charity organization that aims to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS prevention through song and dance. Here in Miami, Doutzen looks beautiful of course but she also looks so happy with her family. It’s hard to believe her son, Phyllon Joy, was just born in January of 2011. Beautiful, happy looking family. I love these pictures and I adore Doutzen.

I really want to like Nicki Minaj. I checked out her album and it definitely has moment I can really get behind but for the most part, I have to admit I’m not really a huge fan. I’d like her style if it didn’t all feel a little “been there done that”. I think I’m being to harsh. I do that sometimes. What I do like about Nicki is that she really marches to the beat of her own drum and is unapologetic about that. That goes double here in Oahu, Hawaii as she films her new music video for her song “Starship”. The bikini, the wig – it’s all so over the top but I like it. I heard the song and I’m still a little iffy about it but I’ll give it a few more listens. I could end up loving it. It wouldn’t be the first time I hated a tune that wound up being one of my favorites. I’m looking at you “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5.

I have never understood the hate Celine Dion gets. I probably never will. The woman is so phenomenally talented it’s a little ridiculous. I’m not a fan of most of her music although there are songs I like, but she genuinely has one of the most impressive voices in the business and I respect that. Here at the Jazz & Blues Festival in Jamaica, Celine shows the audience that she isn’t just a big voice but she also knows how to put on a good show. That’s another thing I’ve always really admired about her. Her live performances sound nearly CD quality and she does more than just stand in place on the stage. She might be a little strange but what would the world be without the strange people? A lot less interesting.

I’m not normally the kind of girl that goes nuts over a particular photographer but there are two photographers working in the industry today I get genuinely excited about. Tyler Shields and Terry Richardson. When I heard there was a set of Lady Gaga pics from a Terry Richardson photoshoot coming up, I hoped I’d get the chance to write about them and here I am. First, I love Lady Gaga. She bizarre, outrageous and has a knack for writing catchy pop songs. More than that though, she can legitimately sing. Terry Richardson is the perfect photographer to capture the essence of who Gaga is as a person and as a performer. His shots of Jared Leto are among my favorite pictures of all time but I have to admit, these Gaga pics are pretty close to the top of the list. There’s just something about them I like. Perhaps its the rawness of them or the glimpse they give us into what the Lady’s life is like off the stage. I love this whole series and I can’t wait to see more.
