Rumor has it Nigel Lithgow isn’t convinced Jennifer Lopez is really done with “American Idol”. He’s the executive producer so you’d think he’d know. He is hoping she’ll decide to return and share the judge’s panel with newly appointed judge, Mariah Carey. Hmmm … I’m not sure he’s thought that one through. I can’t see the purpose of having two pop-divas on the panel. I can’t even imagine how they’d get along. I suppose it doesn’t really matter because I’m pretty convinced Jennifer’s leaving even if Nigel isn’t. It’s a shame too. Just look at these performance pics of Jennifer Lopez in New Jersey. The woman really knows how to put on a show. She might not be the most talented singer but she commands the stage and I think that counts for a lot in pop music. Plus she’s hot. Super hot. I guess we’ll see how it all plays out in the next few weeks.

So “American Idol” producers have foolishly ignored my suggestion to bring Avril Lavigne on as a judge for the show’s next season. They chose Mariah Carey instead. I’m going to go ahead and call that a massive mistake. Mariah is a nutcase – a talented nutcase, but a nutcase none the less. Crew members have said she was a nightmare to work with during her stint as a guest mentor a few seasons back. The same crew members have said Jennifer Lopez was a delight. I’m not sure what they would say about Avril, but I guess we’ll never know. None of that matters though. What matters is the fact that Avril Lavigne is on vacation in Mexico which means we can expect at least another set – maybe more – of gorgeous Avril Lavigne bikini pictures similar to this one. I can’t complain about that. I think Avril is gorgeous. More than that, she’s unique. She does things her own way – her hair for example – and I think that’s just fantastic. I think she would’ve been a great judge but hey, can’t win ’em all, I suppose.

They said these two crazy kids wouldn’t make it but LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are out to prove the last two people that still care wrong. I dunno. I used to be offended in some completely unjustified way by LeAnn and Eddie’s relationship but I’ve really let go of that. I feel for the kids involved and I feel for Eddie and LeAnn’s respective former spouses but I’m sure they’ve moved on. Maybe it’s time I do too. It’s not really that I don’t think Eddie and LeAnn are awful for cheating on their respective spouses with each other instead of ending their marriages and hooking up once they were both single. It’s more that I just don’t really care anymore. It’s kind of old news. I wish them all the best, I guess. Anyway, what’s next?

So what is too sexy? I have no idea but when I opened this post and saw these photos, my breath caught in my throat for a moment. If there is such a thing as too sexy, I’m quite sure Eva is almost there. Just look at that woman. Her rear end is fabulous. That heavens she chose white bikini shorts because … okay. I need to take a moment. I’m a professional writer here and I’m having trouble formulating sentences here. See? Too sexy. She’s got my brain all scrambled. I adore Eva. Maybe that shows a little bit. She’s smart, funny, talented and of course, absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to see what she does with her career now that “Desperate Housewives” has come to an end. I think she could do bigger things. I hope that happens.

I know I say this constantly and it must be getting old, but I can’t help it. I love Katy Perry. I love Katy like this nice cool breeze blowing through my window on this scorching hot day. She’s just as refreshing to me. She puts on a show for the photographers every time she gets the chance and one gets the feeling that Katy Perry is a character she portrays in the media and not what she’s like at home. Some call that fake. I call that necessary. She keeps something of herself private and I think celebrities need that. While we see all the trademarks of a Katy Perry photo shoot here (the cleavage baring dress, the unusually colored hair, the dramatic, attention grabbing eye makeup), this is definitely a more stripped back version of Perry’s normal photo shoots. There is no dramatic backdrop. There is no crazy costume. Even her breasts are mostly covered albeit covered by black lace. It’s just Katy and a couch and I think the result is sensational. This is quite possibly my favorite set of Katy Perry photos. Just beautiful.

I didn’t bother watching to the end of the most recent season of “Dancing with the Stars” despite the fact that two of my all time favorite female celebrities were featured heavily on the show. I’m speaking, of course, of Maria Menounos and Brooke Burke Charvet. I guess I just wasn’t as into the show as I have been in the past. What does that have to do with how hot Brooke looks in these photos? Absolutely nothing. I just felt like sharing. Seriously though, Brooke. So hot. The body, the face, the hair – the everything. Best of all, the woman just seems so incredibly down to earth – something I also appreciate in Maria, for the record. While I bailed on the show, I didn’t bail on my love for Brooke and I look forward to seeing her on the show again next season, assuming of course I tune back in.
