I get it Miley. You’ve been working out, lost some weight, toned up your body and now you want to show that body off. Even so, maybe this wasn’t the best choice fashion wise for a day of shoe shopping. People are worried about you, honey. They think you’re going off the rails. I personally think you’re just fine and are proud of how you look. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just not sure why you’d want to give the haters more to hate on. In these photos, taken in New York, Miley Cyrus is wearing something I would actually consider wearing if I thought I could pull it off. I would probably only wear it to the beach but hey, that’s just me. I think she looks great but I know someone is going to rip her a new one over the choice. I feel a little bad for the girl, especially since I’ve done the new one ripping a time or two. My opinion of her has changed though. She seems more mature and more in control of her life. I think that’s exactly what she needed. I hope I’m right but I have been wrong before. I wish nothing but the best for Miley and I hope there are bright things in her future.

I haven’t always been a big fan of Blake Lively’s look. I just didn’t get what all the fuss was about. Some folks talked about her like she was the most beautiful woman to ever grace Planet Earth, but I just didn’t see it. Lately though, I’m starting to sing a different tune. These pictures from Good Morning America in NYC only serve to further convince me that I was wrong. I love the pants suit. There aren’t many women out there who can make a pants suit look fabulous but apparently Blake is one of those women. It looks classy, sophisticated and mature, but the color is fun and flirty. This look is a major hit in my books. Well done, Miss Lively.

The problem with being a Disney star or a Nickelodeon star is pretty obvious. Your fans don’t want you to grow up. They want you to stay the same. What people don’t realize is that just doesn’t happen. People grow and mature. They change. If stars like Selena Gomez want long lasting careers they have to figure out how to make the transition into more mature projects as seamlessly as possible. The problem with that? Once you’re pegged with the “teen star” label, more mature audiences aren’t always willing to accept you. Now, with all that said, I don’t think that’s going to be a huge problem for Selena Gomez and these photos from Malibu are a great example of why. She doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to grow up too fast. She still has the playful, youthful vibe even though she’s beginning to grow into a more mature young lady. She isn’t going the Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus route and trying to be an ultra sexy bombshell to attract older audiences. I think Selena has a decent chance of having a long career as long as she keeps making smart choices.

Are we really still talking about this girl? In my always very humble opinion, Courtney Stodden (or the Teen Bride as she’s likely more commonly known) is a whole new low in “famous for being famous” celebrities. As a culture, I think we’re often fascinated by things we don’t understand. I think we like to be angry and outraged and for a lot of people, 16 year old Courtney’s marriage (her husband is 51 year old actor, Doug Hutchison) has drawn so much attention for both of those reasons. We not only can’t understand why this beautiful young woman would marry a man so much older than her but also why her mother would give permission for such a thing to happen. It makes people angry. I try to keep an open mind about everything but this one is really tricky for me. Here in Malibu, Courtney actually looks happy. Maybe all the outrage is unwarranted. If she’s happy, healthy and feels good about the decisions she’d made, that’s her business. I don’t believe a girl her age is incapable of making smart decisions. When I was 16, I was more mature than many of the older people in my life. Somehow that’s changed now and at 30 I’ve the maturity of a teenager, but that’s beside the point. I just hope Courtney doesn’t look back on this time in her life one day and regret not really taking the time to be a teenager. I worry for her but I suppose it’s really none of my business. I wish her the best of luck although I think she’d have a much better chance of having a healthy and happy life if the press would turn the cameras off.

I have really been gaining a whole new appreciation for Selena Gomez as of late. It’s clear that she’s trying to make the transition to a more mature target audience (or perhaps keep her current target interested as they themselves mature) but she hasn’t gone the trashy route like so many before her. She might wear somewhat revealing outfits on stage or at press events but nothing that even comes close to crossing the line. You know what I like most about Selena? She gets that there is a time and a place for everything. Take her bikini shots from Rio de Janeiro for example. We’re seeing more of her in these pictures than we’ve ever seen on stage or in the red carpet and that’s the way it should be.

I wasn’t really an Ashley Tisdale fan for a long time but she’s really been growing on me over the last few months. She looks beautiful here at the Journey 2 Mysterious Island premiere in LA, wearing a flattering, sexy dress that looks amazing on her. She’s grown so much since she first hit the Hollywood scene but instead of showing that growth by sporting the same kind of trashy attire some of her contemporaries wear, Ashley wears more mature styles that are still youthful and fun. I love this color on her. I’m not crazy over pairing the dress with the shoes but i can understand why she chose them. Nude or light colored shoes make the legs look longer although judging for these pictures, she didn’t need the help.
